Help Spread The Word Among Us

Published since 1981, The Word Among Us is the monthly magazine of daily Catholic mass readings, meditations on those readings, and insightful articles about faith. In addition to the print edition, there is a digital app with the same material, audio versions of the readings, and other exclusive digital content.

This is all great content for members of the Catholic faith, but to help bring the good word of God’s message to a wider audience, The Word Among Us launched their Partners program in 1986.

Begun as a way to give issues of the magazine to those incarcerated in the U.S. prison system, Partners now distributes issues and other material to prisoners, members of the U.S. military servicemen, college students, people visiting Pregnancy Care Centers, and others. Copies of the magazine are distributed to over 168,000 readers all over the world.

The Word Among Us does all this through the generosity of their paying subscribers and other donors. These donations help distribute the magazine to over 168,000 additional readers from all over the world. Currently, as of this writing, donations of $100 and more are matched.

Here are a few excerpts about the Partners program ministries from their website:

PRISON MINISTRY

Prisoners are often vulnerable and alone, isolated from loved ones and local church support. They face violence, rejection, darkness, loneliness, despair, and the pain of living with their past. However, there is hope that only God can bring in the direst situations. Thousands of people find forgiveness, find God, and often convert or deepen their faith in prison.

PREGNANCY HOPE & HEALING MINISTRY

Partners reaches over 20,000 individuals through copies of The Word Among Us sent to pregnancy centers and post-abortion ministries each month. Because of your prayers and donations, women and men encounter Jesus in The Word Among Us during uncertain and vulnerable times in their lives.

MILITARY MINISTRY

Service members and their families need our spiritual and moral support. That is where Partners can help. Because of your gifts and your prayers, Partners sends The Word Among Us to more than 35,000 Catholics in the military.

COLLEGE MINISTRY

The college years are a short but critical window. This is when young people are making significant life decisions: choosing a career, finding a spouse, and developing patterns of daily living. Some are trying to decide what to live for. Others are asking themselves if they really believe in Jesus enough to practice their faith when not guided by their parents, grandparents, or local Church.

HARDSHIP MINISTRY

For the past several years, The Word Among Us Partners has received many requests to send The Word Among Us to those in the most difficult situations–people in homeless shelters, addiction treatment centers, hospitals, and senior living and health care centers.
